Anders Lewendal, the home builder responsible for the first documented home ever built entirely from products sourced and/or manufactured in the US. The home will use less than half the energy of average new homes its size, and the home will cost about the same as other homes of similar size and quality. Anders is founder of The 5% Club, asking every consumers and businesses to reallocate just 5% of their spending from foreign made products to those made in the US.

A 5% shift just in the residential building industry would add $14 billion to the US economy every year -- enough to directly employ the entire population of Providence, Rhode Island, at about $40,000 a year.

Guest: Clyde Prestowitz

Clyde Prestowitz is founder and President of the Economic Strategy Institute. Mr. Prestowitz is an outspoken critic of U.S. trade policies toward Japan, China, and Korea.

Mr. Prestowitz served as counselor to the Secretary of Commerce in the Reagan Administration. There, he led many U.S. trade and investment negotiations with Japan, China, Latin America, and Europe. Before joining the Commerce Department, he was a senior businessman in the United States, Europe, Japan, and throughout Asia and Latin America. He has served as vice chairman of the President's Committee on Trade and Investment in the Pacific and sits on the Intel Policy Advisory Board and the U.S. Export-Import Bank Advisory Board. 

Clyde Prestowitz regularly writes for leading publications, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, Fortune, and Foreign Affairs. He is the author of several books on international trade and business strategy includingRogue Nation, and Three Billion New Capitalists.
