Guests: Simi Lampert, Fred Andrle, and members of the Allen Farm
We begin in our studio with Simi Lampert and Hannah Dreyfus, editors of the Yeshiva University/Stern College BEACON, which was stripped of its funding for publishing a first-person account of pre-marital sex by an Orthodox Jewish student. As reported in the New York Times and throughout the global media, Simi refused to censor a story that resonates worldwide.
We're then joined by Fred Andrle, award-winning former long-time host of Open Line, the lead public talk show at WOSU, the National Public Radio affiliate in Columbus, Ohio. Andrle's unique insights on the state of talk radio are critical at a time of epic transition.
Finally we hear from pioneer wind farmers at the Allen Farm on Martha's Vineyard, who have just installed the island's largest free-standing turbine, and from Chris Rawley and Ron Zweig, veterans of a shockingly difficult battle for two large turbines installed at Falmouth, Cape Cod. Their green power struggles tell us way too much about the state of the earth.
