The Grimm Act is designed to roll back the strong whistleblower protections passed under the Dodd-Frank Act. Mr. Ross’ whistleblower case against Bear Stearns explains how the law gives companies a license to steal from investors.

Honesty Without Fear - 01/10/12

Guest Host, EPA whistleblower Dr. David Lewis takes on one of the most controversial scientific issues of our day: vaccine safety.  He interviews Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Dr. Wakefield, a former surgeon and medical researcher, co-authored a 1998 Lancet article that brought global attention to a link that may exist between autism and the Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) vaccine in children. Dr. Lewis has independently investigated claims by the British Medical Journal that Dr. Wakefield committed scientific fraud with his 1998 study. Read more about Dr. Wakefield’s case here.

Dr. Lewis questions Dr. Wakefield about his research and his experience as a medical professional who bucked the scientific establishment and they discuss the importance of protecting research scientists who blow the whistle.

Honesty Without Fear - 12/27/11

In the first half hour, Richard Renner interviews whistleblower Michael DeGuelle about his landmark case against S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. Deguelle was fired after he blew the whistle on the company’s multi-million dollar tax fraud scheme. DeGuelle filed a RICO lawsuit claiming that his discharge was part of the 10-year tax fraud scheme.  On December 15th, the Seventh Circuit held that the retaliation and the tax fraud are related, and DeGuelle's case can go forward. This is a precedent setting decision that opens the door to RICO remedies for whistleblowers. DeGuelle will share his story and explain why this decision is so important. You can take action to improve protections for whistleblowers by signing the petition at whistleblowersradio.org.

In the second half hour, Lindsey Williams and Dean Zerbe, National Managing Director for Alliant Group and Former Tax Counsel for the Senate Finance Committee discuss the IRS Whistleblower Program. Find out where the weaknesses in the program are and what you need to know if you are considering filing a claim.
