Amidst the gloom surrounding this summer's climate bill meltdown comes some positive news on the Green Front...After a dozen years and four lawsuits the EPA has finally set rules limiting how much mercury and other toxins cement plants can release. Given that cement plants are among the top three biggest contributers to methylmercury emissions this a big deal development! We'll hear from the attorney who led those lawsuits, Jim Pew, with Earthjustice. We'll also speak with Diane MacEachern of The Big Green Purse. This longtime environmental activist who believes greenpower lies in our spending choices, will tell us about an innovative and hugely successful grassroots campaign to get grocers to carry more earth friendly products!
