LIBYA – Another Unauthorized War

After a summit meeting in Paris the Libyan military operation was put into motion, and now the US is at war with a third Muslim Country (a fourth if we count Pakistan) – but where did President Obama get the authority to go to war? The answer is – He didn’t.
Something is missing in the US/Libyan war equation, and that something is called “The Authorization To Use Force.” By law the the US Congress must authorize the use of force in matters of war unless if the President feels there’s an imminent or actual threat to the United States.
With regard to Libya the threat is to the citizens of Libya not the United States. Congress has never authorized or even debated the current US military “intervention” in Libya. President Obama – simply went ahead, along with the Arab League and United Nations – and made the determination on his own.
