Colin Woodard is an award-winning investigative journalist and author who has conducted research and reporting from over fifty countries, primarily eastern Europe and the Balkans. He is currently a foreign correspondent for the Chronicle of Higher Education and The Christian Science Monitor. He received the Jane Bagley Lehman Award for his reporting on environmental issues in 2004 and numerous fellowships including the Pew Fellowship at Johns Hopkins, the US Antarctic Project, and the Regional Environmental Center in Budapest Hungary. He is also on the advisory board of the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Science.
Colin has written several books, and his latest is “American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America.”
