Rameshwar Das first met Ram Dass while a college student in 1967, studied yoga and meditation with him, and in 1970 traveled to India to see Neem Karoli Baba. He lived there for a year and a half, receiving the name Rameshwar Das. He has returned to India every few years over the interval and has collaborated with Ram Dass on a number of projects. Ramesh has shared the stage with Ram Dass at annual retreats on Maui including one this past December.
In his work life Ramesh has primarily been a photographer, including over the years newspaper work and a wide range of free lance editorial and commercial work. He has taught photojournalism and for 20+ years a course in environmental photography at a summer art institute. Before BE LOVE NOW his last major writing project was a 700 page coastal management plan for the municipality on Long Island where he lives. He has chaired citizens’ committees and serves on two non-profit boards.
