Animal Magnet Pet Radio - 02/16/10

Deborah Wolfe explains how dogs are keeping it safe at the Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver; from the airport to the alpine and all roads inbetween working dogs are on the job. If animals and people competed together, humans would lose in all events and Deborah tells you which animals are stronger, jump higher and further. Did you know that the cheetah running is not only faster than the fastest man running but also faster than the fastest speedskater? Lucky for that Vancouver Island Granny, the mountain lion who visited her home was in a hurry to get out! Are you wondering what its like to be at the Olympics? The crowds are friendly, and happy, the weather is warm and mild and there is family friendly fun every where from jugglers, musicians, free exhibits, and games. The police presence is huge and uniformed in both police dress and rcmp plus undercover police too. You can’t turn around looking for a sign without a uniformed volunteer asking if you need any help, and every person you encounter from security to guest services are all friendly and social and hyped for the games, giving out free pins and mugging for photos with kids. Protests have been in the news but the real protest message is being lost so listen here to find out what the authentic anti-poverty protesters want and what the First Nations chiefs want specifically from Norway. The hype about traffic must have worked because transit is successfully busier than ever and parking and driving is just simple. Deborah takes you through some of her Olympic highlights including holding the torch and watching Women’s hockey. Check out Deborah Wolfe’s blogs on www.redroom.com for more Olympic coverage.
