The top story of Censored 2011: The Top Censored Stories of 2009-2010 is Global Plans to Replace the Dollar. Editors of Project Censored, Peter Phillips, Mickey Huff, along with Elaine Wellin and Jamie Walton will be holding an event, in their Empire, Power & Propaganda Series, Thursday evening in Berkeley on The End of American Hegemony, Global Dominance, and the Collapse of the Dollar.
Dr. Peter Phillips, award winning Professor of Sociology at SSU where he teaches on Media Censorship, Power, Class Statification, and Social Welfare. Peter has authored, or co-authored several books including Impeach the President; The Case Against Bush and Cheney, and Project Censored Guide to Independent Media and Activism, along with the Project Censored yearbooks dating from 1997. Peter Phillips, Phd. is now director emeritus of Project Censored, and president of the Media Freedom Foundation. He is known for his op-ed pieces in the alternative press and independent newspapers nationwide, and the winner of the 2009 Dallas Smythe Award, presented by the Union for Democratic Communication.
Jamie Walton was trained and worked in civil engineering in New Zealand and local government in Australia for 14 years. For eleven years he has been interested in and researched the monetary system and monetary reform and helped organize the 2008, 2009, 2010 American Monetary Institute Conferences. He has traveled extensively and attended and worked with monetary reformers in Europe and has been an advocate for the reforms proposed within the American Monetary Act which are diametrically opposed to global plans for a private, unaccountable, centralized debt based currency with life and death command over every government, unaccountable to anyone and humanity.
