Today we have Al Baio who is a vegan artist, hip blogger, and back-pack proponent to talk to us about, amongst other topics, vegan peeps vs. conventional peeps.

We are also visited by Eddie Garza, the campaign coordinator for Mercy for Animals, to talk animal rights and wrongs. Today is also National Watermelon Day!!! And, Julia has an update on immigrant's civil liberties. Songs by the Kinks, Rolling Stones, Animal Collective, and Led Zepplin.

Good presentation on animal rights issues. It's kind of funny and disappointing when you know about all these animal rights groups and you go their websites and they don't link to each other or co-host any events even though they may have offices in the same city. If they mention another organization, it's always PETA. Sometimes you dig a little, and find out that there is bad blood between them for some stupid personnel reason. Bad blood, get it? I'm thinking here of Farm Sanctuary, Mercy for Animals, Animal Acres and other rescue operations. I understand they are all competing for the same donor dollars but you'd still think they could be on "the same page" for a few things. (It's also funny and disappointing when you find out the whole staff at a dog rescue place went to a steak joint for Christmas.)
