Topic 1: Class Action Lawsuit Filed for 700 Brooklyn Bridge Protestors, also: NYPD & Wall Street Firms: Partners in Spying

Guest:  Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, Executive Director of the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund

The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund  have filed a federal class action lawsuit against Mayor Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and 40 unnamed police officers on behalf of the 700+ protesters who were arrested on Oct. 1 in a march over the Brooklyn Bridge. 

The defendants are charged with mass violations of constitutional rights in the trap and detain mass arrest.

Topic 2: Big Money & National Political Leadership Parties, a Choking of the US Political Process.

Guest: Thomas Ferguson – Author, Professor of Political Science, University of Massachusetts, Boston

The centralized national political leadership that big money has created is choking the U.S. political process.

The Congressional party leadership controls the swelling coffers of the national campaign committees, and the huge fixed investments in polling, research, and media capabilities that these committees maintain and use these tools  to bribe, cajole, or threaten candidates to toe the party line.
