The Dr. Peter Breggin Hour - 04/18/11

What can you do as an individual to encourage empathic therapeutic approaches and relationships, while warning people about the dangers of psychiatric drugs and diagnoses? Listen to my guest Dorothy Cassidy, MEd from North Carolina. She has worked within the educational system, and outside the system as well, for more than thirty-six years promoting what's really good for children and adults while speaking out courageously about the harm caused by psychiatric drugs and diagnoses. Be inspired!

While I certainly do appreciate & value the topic being discussed, and while I have no doubt that Dr. Cassidy is a warm & empathetic human being, I can tell you that on a gut level, I experienced a lot of anxiety, irritation, and fear ver the casual, laughing way in which you both glossed over her admitted abuse of her own son. Laughing and lighthearted when describing screaming at your own child, chuckling at the story of his brush with psychotropic medication, those are emotional defenses that really anger me.
