January 12, 2012 Guest: Yalman Onaran
Yalman Onaran was the creator of the Istanbul bureau for Bloomberg News, the economic news agency he has served as a reporter since 1998 and now reports from New York. He was one of the first reporters to break the news on the collapse of Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns and exposed bank insolvency in Turkey. His articles have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, in German economic reviews and Bloomberg Business week.
His recent book which has received high praise from some of our regular guests on this program – such as Nomi Prins and Simon Johnson – is “Zombie Banks: How Broken Banks and Debtor Nations are Crippling the Global Economy.”
