Guest: Katrina van den Heuvel

 

 


Katrina van den Heuvel is the Editor and Publisher for The Nation magazine and a columnist for the Washington Post focusing on American and International politics. A summa cum laude graduate from Princeton University, she has written and published extensively on the Soviet Union and civil liberties. Katrina has received numerous awards for her political analysis and commentaries including the New York Civil Liberties Callaway Award and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee’s “Voices of Peace” award.  She serves on the boards of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, The Institute for Policy Studies, The World Policy Institute and the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute.
 
Her most recent publication that has just been released is “The Change I Believe In: Fighting for Progress in the Age of Obama,” a collection of her essays portraying her journey through the Obama presidency – from hope to frustration and the lessons we should be learning in galvanizing popular activism to implement truthful change.
