Senator Mike Gravel served as the democratic US Senator for Alaska between 1969 to 1981, having served on committees of Finance, Interior, Environment, chairing the energy committee and participating in the subcommittees addressing environmental pollution. In the early 1950s he was a special agent in the Army’s Counter Intelligence Corps. Sen. Gravel is perhaps best known for publishing the Pentagon Papers which led to the litigation of Gravel versus the US resulting in a landmark Supreme Court decision.
He is now spearheading a new organizational campaign -- the Citizens 911 Commission Campaign – that would put on state ballots an initiative that would authorize a new investigation into the 911 events and that would be vested with grand jury powers.

Ellen Brown is an economist and attorney who is now the President and Chairman of the Public Banking Institute – a non profit economic venture to find viable, sustainable solutions to America’s banking crises by promoting people-owned state and community banks. She has written extensively about the private financial cartels and the Federal Reserve. Her book, “Web of Debt: The Shocking Truth About Our Money System and How We Can Break Free” analyses in depth how Wall Street and its hold on Washington control money for their self-interests. Ellen runs the WebOfDebt.com blog, which has her articles about the financial crisis, Administration’s handling of it, as well as new banking models for protecting the public.

Professor Thomas Naylor is one of the country’s most independent-thinking economists. He is a professor emeritus of economics at Duke University where he has taught since 1964, and is the founder of the Second Vermont Republic -- a nonviolent citizen’s network and think tank advocating for the breakup of mega-nations such as the US, Russia and China. The Republic calls for the creation of small, democratic, affluent, socially responsible nations with a high degree of environmental integrity such as Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. This year Time magazine named the Second Vermont Republic among the world’s top 10 aspiring nations, along with Scotland, Quebec and Kurdistan.
Prof. Naylor has written numerous articles in academic and popular publications, including the New York TImes, Christian Science Monitor and The Nation. Among his many books is “Affluenza: The All Consuming Epidemic” (which deals with the illness of over consumption and co-written with John de Graaf who was interviewed and filmed for our forthcoming documentary on poverty in America) and his book “Secession: How Vermont and All Other States Can Save Themselves from Empire”

He is routinely consulted by industry, Congress, and the media on regulatory issues that affect health freedom. He is the author of several critically acclaimed books including The Ultimate Price (2007); The Rise of Tyranny (2008); and Global Censorship of Health Information (2010).
Gretchen DuBeau is the Executive and Legal Director of the Alliance for Natural Health International in Washington DC, where she heads US health policy issues. The Alliance is an international organization dedicated to promoting sustainable health, health freedom choice, and protection to natural health care practitioners through good science and law. She is an attorney who has practiced environmental law. Gretchen is also the Executive Director of the Praktikos Institute, the Political Activities Chair for the Integrative Medicine Consortium and a Board Advisor for the International College for Integrative Medicine.

Robert Whitaker is a journalist covering medicine and science who has received numerous awards, including the George Polk Award and the National Association of Science’s Writers’ Award. Earlier Robert was a director of publications at Harvard Medical School and was a co-founder of Center Watch, a publishing house covering clinical trials in the pharmaceutical industry.
