Dr. Loretta Napoleoni is the best selling author of Rogue Ecomomics, Terror Incorporation and Insurgent Iraq and is regarded as world expert in terrorist financing and money laundering. As the Chairwoman for the Club de Madrid, she brought heads of state from around the world to focus on means to combat terror networks.
She has advised international banks on strategies to counter the current economic crisis and frequently appears on CNN, Sky TV and BBC.

We have on the line David Braun who is at this moment up in the Capital offices in Albany awaiting to testify on behalf of opposition to hydrofracking in New York state. David is helping to coordinate anti-fracking efforts with our rally at Governor Andrew Cuomo's Manhattan office this coming Saturday at Noon. He is the co-founder and president of United for Action, a nonprofit public policy organization dedicated to stopping hydraulic fracturing of gas wells in the Mid Atlantic states and nationally. He is also the campaign director for the Academy Award nominated documentary Gasland.

Peter Van Buren has served with the Foreign Service for over 23 years. He received a Meritorious Honor Award for assistance to Americans following the Hanshin earthquake in Kobe, a Superior Honor Award for helping an American rape victim in Japan, and another award for work in the tsunami relief efforts in Thailand. Previous assignments include Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the UK and Hong Kong. He volunteered for Iraq service and was assigned as a Provincial Reconstruction Team or ePRT leader from 2009-10. His tour extended past the withdrawal of the last combat troops.
Van Buren worked extensively with the military while overseeing evacuation planning in Japan and Korea. The Marine Corps selected Van Buren to travel to Camp Lejeune in 2006 to participate in a field exercise that included simulated Iraqi conditions and later spent a year on the Hill in the Department of State’s Congressional Liaison Office.
His recent book is “We Meant Well: How I Helped Lose the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi People” which has greatly upset the bureaucrats in the state department and Washington for revealing the truth behind America’s failing reconstruction programs in Iraq.

Guest: Professor Tomas Sedlacek
Professor Tomas Sedlacek is the chief macroeconomic strategist at CSOB, the largest bank in Czechoslovakia, which won the Euromoney Award for Excellence in banking in 2011, a member of the country’s National Economic Council, and a lecturer of economics at Charles University in Prague – one of the oldest universities in the world – as well as at the University of New York in Prague and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Prof. Sedlacek has shaken the study of economics and was named among the “Young Guns” and one of the “five hot minds in economics” by the Yale Economic Review.
Earlier he served as an economic advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the Czech Republic and prior to that was the economic of advisor to President Vaclav Havel.
His recent book, “Economics of Good and Evil: The Quest for Economic Meaning from Gilgamesh to Wall Street” quickly became a best seller in Europe and completely rethinks the field and belief of economics as solely an objective science and re-introduces the moral principles required for a humanist view of economics that is truly progressive and can benefit all. It may be one of the most important books recently published in America to challenge economic determinism and make us think more imaginatively about our economic policies.

Dr. Brent Blackwelder is the recent president emeritus of Friends of the Earth, a post he held since 1994. He is regarded as our nation’s most senior environmental lobbyist in Washington. To date Brent has testified before Congress on pressing environmental issues over 100 times. Earlier he was the founder of the Board of American Rivers, the nation’s leading river-saving organization responsible for preserving many of our rivers which might now have disappeared, as well as eliminating over 200 dams and channeling projects that would have destroyed wetlands and wildlife. His organization, Friends of the Earth, is now in 70 countries around the world and assisting these nations to move towards renewable energy technologies.
Brent will be one of the key speakers at the Nuclear-Free Future rally this Saturday at Hudson River Park (Pier 95) starting at Noon

Harvey Wasserman is a journalist, author and democracy activist who has been a leading national voice in the anti-war and anti-nuclear energy movements for 3 decades. He is a senior advisor for Greenpeace USA and the Nuclear Information and Resource Service.
In 1973, Harvey pioneered the global movement against atomic reactors and is responsible for coining the term “No Nukes.”

Frances Moore Lappe is the author of 16 books, including her 1971 bestseller Diet for a Small Planet which influenced millions of people about the causes of hunger and the food choices we make. Since then Frances has become one of the nation’s leading social activists and an invaluable intellectual resource and visionary for a new democratic social movement. Towards this end, she has founded the Small Planet Institute and the Center for Living Democracy.
She has received numerous awards including the Right Livelihood Award (the Alternative Nobel Prize).
Frances most recent book is “EcoMind: Changing the Way We Think to Create the World We Want” which argues that instead of becoming overcome by fear, guilt and despair towards our environmental and social crises, we need to make efforts to alter our mental constructs to embrace a commitment to positive action.

Dr. Louisa Williams is a seasoned alternative health physician practicing at the Marin Naturopathic Medicine Clinic in San Rafael, California.
