The Association has been in existence since 1899. It helps members with federal law compliance legislation and regulations which affect the rules and environment of care. It also provides feedback to regulatory bodies trying to ensure the practicality of regulations. Advances in technology have allowed performance of medical miracles.

Lawrence Tabak is the Director of the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research. Dr. Tabak is also Principle Deputy Director of National Institute of Health in Washington DC.  

Discusses his career path. Tabak was in academia before joining NIH. He did research at Rochester regarding sugar and understanding the function of sugar-coated molecules that line the surface of the mouth There is a protective barrier of delicate tissues in our body. Bacteria are smart with the way they use dietary sugars. Eating sucrose in moderate amounts creates an amount of protective sugars. Tabak also discussed NIH's bold and innovative creative ideas. Dr. Collins is a scientist who is implementing a forward-looking agenda.

Michael C, Stinson is the Director of Government Relations for Physicians Insurers Association of America.

Discusses Association and Health Care Reform. Physicians Insurers Association of America is a trade association representing medical liability insurance carriers known as medical malpractice insurers. The Association was started in 1977 as result of claims which tripled during that time period. It has a membership requirement that every company be owned or operated by physicians.  Some hospital insurance companies exist solely to meet the needs of the hospital. There has not been a consistent increase of claims. In fact, presently claims have fallen off a bit.  Two-thirds of claims are either rejected or dropped. Less than 4-5% go forward through the court system.

Hernan Rosenberg, Ph.D. is Senior Advisor in Planning and Research Coordination of the PanAmerican Health Organization.  The PanAmerican Health Organization was founded in 1902 because of the diseases which arrived on ships carrying goods. 

Discusses the PanAmerican Health Organizations origins as a part of the Navy.  It receives a budget of $400 million every two years - roughly half of which is used for regulatory purposes and half is for betterment of health.

Discusses Health Care reform.  The group TakeBackMedicine.com has filed suite against Obamacare.  The suit challenges the mandatory insurance provision which will punish those who don't buy insurance.  This is against the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution.  If Congress can mandate tha people buy health insurance then Congress can compel people to do anything.

Ryan Ellis is Director of Tax Policy at American for Tax Reform.  Ellis is also Executive Director of Amercianshareholders.org.

Discusses fact that taxes are going to go up.  The largest new tax is the individual mandate for purchasing health insurance.  The IRS will penalize 2.5% of your income if you don't purchase health insurance.  But paying that penalty may be cheaper than buying health insurance.  Many people will still be uninsured.  There are those who will be exempt from complying with the mandate: religious objectors, illegal immigrants, prisoners, those earning less than the poverty line, Indian trives and "hardship cases."

David Smith, a Fulbright Scholar is Educational Outreach Officer for the United States Institute of Peace.  This Federal Agency has been in existence since 1984 and is involved in international conflict resolution and peace building.

Discusses ways of building peace in conflict zones around the world.  The Institute gives money to NGOs that are working on behalf of resolving conflict and promoting peace.  He also discussed that the concept of a Peace Institute was first written about by individually by George Washington, Benjamin Banneker and Benjamin Rush.

The Institute is funded by Congress in an unappropriated sum of $30 million.  Institute of Peace experts talk and educate around the US at various locations.

David Miller is the Executive Vice President of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists which represents over 2,000 pharmacists and technicians who focus on the specialty practice of pharmacy compounding.  The mission of the Academy is to protect, promote and advance the art and science of Pharmacy compounding.

Discusses the importance of Pharmacy compounding.  Since the 1930s Pharmaceutical companies have standardized medications and manufactured them in bulk quantities.  Not everyone can used these standardized medications.  It does not leave room for adjusting dosages for organ operation level in young children, the aging populations and those with allergies.  Pharmacy schools used to require compounding cases.  In the last 20 years, the study of compounding has become less common place.

Discusses the Economic Reform Bill which passed the Senate on May 19, 2010.

There were two weeks of debate in the Senate.  The House has passed the Bill.  The Senate and the House have to pass the same Bill to send it to the President for signing.  This is the most significant change in regulating financial institutions since the New Deal.  The main component of which is that the $6 trillion elephant in the room was not addressed - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac standards have influences on loans which banks will make.

Dr. Richard G. Smolka is a Professor Emeritus from American University.  He is also the Editor of Election Administration Reports which is a bible of details regarding elections.  Dr. Smolka has been a trusted source of information for election officials for the past 39 years.

Discusses the recent election in Great Britain and its significance to the United States.

Great Britain's recent election was historic. (Former) Prime Minister Gordon Brown's Labor party was ousted for the first time in 13 years.  They received 258 Parliamentary Seats.  The New Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservative Party received 360 Parliamentary Seats.  Nick Clegg of the Liberal Democratic Party received 25 Parliamentary Seats, though they received many debating points during the debate which were conducted.  The result is that a Coalition Government has emerged.  This is parallel to the US state elections.  In the US. the candidate who has a plurality in an election, wins it.  In Great Britain, the Liberal Democrats are campaigning against this type of result.
